Darren Snelling
Company Director
Darren has been working with competition engines from 1986, where he served his apprenticeship at B & E Randall earning a City & Guilds credit and distinction in Automotive Engineering. Working there for over 12 years, he gained experience with a wide range of performance engines, his list of duties included the development of cylinder heads, for more power. Many many hours were spent porting cylinder heads, measuring gasflow then backing up results on the dyno.
Darren changed opportunities when he moved to Autopoint Rolling Road Centre, where he took the role of Senior Technician, he was responsible for all engine development and modifications, designing major components, such as camshafts, valves & pistons. He was also actively involved in race car preparation, set up and track support helping Autopoint gain 3 championship wins and a constructors trophy.
In 2003, Darren set up a business to offer the highest standards possible at affordable prices so privately funded drivers could benefit from professional help and support. Darren has been investing in the business year on year acquiring more machinery and test equipment so Damico Engines truely has control over all the processes that go into the engines we build.
Carol Snelling
Company Secretary
Carol is Darren's wife of 31 years, she joined the family business in a full-time capacity in 2016, previously helping in the office on a part-time basis whilst raising their family. Carol can be seen in her van most days making collections & deliveries on her way in and again on her way out of work.
Jeff Gibbs
Business Analyst
Recognising the needs of a rapidly growing business, Darren contacted his friend of more than 14 years who achieved a 1st class Bachelors degree in Computing Science at the University of East Anglia. Jeff accepted the position and started work in April 2021. His first task was to create a new website and an inventory for our webstore. He also introduced a new cloud based platform for which all information relating to job cards and workshop procedures are kept. Jeff is now responsible for maintaining the website, keeping the webstore up to date, social media posts and general assistance with organising workflow.
